Piero Gattoni and Angelo Baronchelli confirmed as President and Vice-President of CIB
Today the new Board of the CIB – Consorzio Italiano Biogas confirmed Piero Gattoni as President for the three-year period 2023-2026. An agricultural entrepreneur, Founding Member and Vice President of EBA – European Biogas Association, Gattoni has held the presidency of the CIB since 2011 and as of this year is also one of the members of the BIT – Biomethane Industrial Partnership, the initiative promoted by the EU Commission for the development of biomethane in Europe.
“I thank the CIB board members for their renewed confidence. These have been complex years in which our farms have never ceased to contribute to the development of the country, guaranteeing the security of supply and continuing to drive the path of ecological transition.”, says Piero Gattoni. “The future will see us even more active in the relaunch of the country, also thanks to our model in which anaerobic digestion is central to producing both quality food and renewable energy. We will continue to favour the development of the supply chain by pursuing the path of proposal and dialogue with the institutions, trying to remove all the obstacles that separate us from achieving production continuity for all the consortium plants and from reaching the full production potential that can be expressed by the primary sector,” Gattoni concludes.
Angelo Baronchelli, President and founder of the AB Group, a company based in Orzinuovi and one of the most important businesses in the cogeneration sector, was confirmed as Vice-President: “Thanks to the Board who confirmed our work. In recent years, the renewed relationship between industry and the agricultural world has allowed us to reach a new stage of development of the sector, investment capacity in new technologies, and promotion of the competitiveness of our industries. Now it is necessary to continue with a constructive dialogue with the institutions in order to outline a long-term energy and industrial strategy that will allow us to proceed with investments to support companies and territories, enhancing a sector that represents a true excellence of our Made in Italy.”, Baronchelli concludes.
